2025 CIF San Diego Section Football Playoffs — Division III

CAL Jones Field has witnessed some of the best football battles this season and last Friday’s semifinal was no exception. The Central Spartans hosted the University City Centurions, the No. 4 seed, with a trip to the championship on the line. Light rain. Chilly air. Loud crowd. That’s playoff football in the Imperial Valley.

The top-seeded Spartans, no strangers to postseason pressure, showed exactly why they belong on the big stage, outlasting University City in a 44–42 offensive showdown. A playoff shootout from start to finish, the Spartans leaned on execution, senior leadership and experience.

With the victory, Central punches its ticket to the CIF–San Diego Section Division III Championship at Southwestern College. They will face the Christian Patriots (No. 6 seed), who upset Army-Navy, the No. 2 seed, to earn their spot in the title game.

Kickoff: Saturday, 3:30 PM — Southwestern College

Championship stage. Another tough opponent. One more chance to make history.
